The patented Magpul Suppressor Cover silencer jacket withstands extreme temperatures caused by long bursts of semi-automatic and fully automatic fire to protect the user and from burns while speeding up the cooling process. The Magpul Suppressor Cover - 5.5 inches consists of a heat-resistant polymer cover that rests on a raised stainless steel heat shield and is attached directly to the suppressor with steel clips. It minimizes heat transfer and keeps the outside temperatures of the cover up to 30°C cooler than the surface of the muffler, allowing cooling airflow. In addition, it acts thermal insulation, reduces the thermal signature of the weapon and reduces impact damage to the silencer body. Fits round silencers with 1.5 inch outer diameter and a length of approximately 5.5 inches (without mounting hardware/interface), as well as the Surefire SOCOM556-RC2.
