The VIPER 3 SHC helmet (Super High Cut) is the latest version of the ACH helmet (Advanced Combat Helmet), which convinces with an even flatter profile than the normal Viper 3. This latest version is equipped with a 7-piece shock-absorbing foam pad set and our 4-point RD (Ratchet Dial) quick adjustment harness. The VIPER 2 SHC has a deep neck extension and a slightly higher side cutout than the PASGT to allow for wearing headsets and helmet headsets
The VIPER GEN2's RD (Ratchet Dial) system greatly improves the helmet's rotational stability on the head, which is especially important for mounted NVGs. The wearer can easily adjust the tension of the wires using a dial that controls the harness' perimeter straps from the back of the head. In addition to the RD system, the harness has four quick-release buckles that make it easy for the wearer to adjust the helmet's strap tension while the helmet is on the head.
The VIPER helmets are all equipped with NVG Mount (mount for night vision devices) on the front side and Rail rails on the sides. The rails are made of impact-resistant nylon and come with two Picatinny, two Wingloc universal adapters and two goggle clips. In addition, the rails can accommodate a variety of other accessories, such as sight mounts. This helmet is popular with police and military special forces due to its exceptional comfort and flexibility in extreme conditions.
